MT-F900 Petroleum Oils Foaming Characteristics Analyzer
Description:
The Matictest Foaming Characteristics Analyzer is designed to evaluate the foaming tendency and foam stability of petroleum-based lubricating oils using the standardized method ASTM D892. This is crucial for assessing product suitability in high-speed rotating equipment, where excessive foaming can lead to poor lubrication and mechanical failure.
This instrument is widely used in quality control, formulation testing, and research for oil manufacturers and industrial laboratories.
Application Scenarios:
Base oil evaluation in lubricants R&D
Quality control in lube oil manufacturing
Product comparison in competitive benchmarking
Compliance testing for export or certification
Features:
1.Single-chip microcomputer control and PID temperature control setting technology are used to achieve fully automatic and precise control.
2.Color Chinese and English LCD display, prompt operation menu, and rich dynamic operation prompt information.
3.2 sets of independent high-precision gas flow meters to control gas flow, with high accuracy, stability and reliability.
4.Constant temperature bath can be externally placed in the refrigerator for testing.
5.150W high-power vacuum pump controls flow, and is equipped with a voltage regulator, air filter tower, etc.
6. The internal parts such as heaters and stirring paddles are made of stainless steel, which is corrosion-resistant and durable.
The following steps outline the standard test method for evaluating foaming characteristics of lubricating oils, based on ASTM D892:
Fill a 200 mL graduated test cylinder with the sample oil.
Place the cylinder in the bath preheated to 24°C or 93.5°C depending on the test sequence (I, II, or III).
Introduce dry air at a rate of 94 ± 5 mL/min through a sintered glass diffuser for 5 minutes.
Immediately record the foam volume (in mL).
Allow the foam to collapse for 10 minutes, then record the final foam volume.
Repeat as required for additional sequences.
Ensure all glassware is cleaned and dried thoroughly before each test run.
Note: This procedure is a summary derived from the ASTM D892 standard. For full compliance, please refer to the official ASTM document.
